TRANSPORT CONGRESS

On April 6th and 7th 2010, the International Academy of Transport will be holding, together with ITS-Russia Association, the Second International Russian Congress on Intellectual Transport Systems in Moscow President Hotel. This event will officially be supported by the State Duma and the Ministry of Transport of Russia, under the patronage of the United Russia Party’s project “Infrastructure of Russia”.
‘The main objective of the Congress is to discuss the national strategy of the intellectual transport systems development, national architecture and Russian Intellectual Transport Systems Development Plan, to exchange experience and form mechanisms for efficient cooperation between Russian and foreign companies in order to create and efficiently use transport systems’, said Sergey Shishkarev, the Chairman of the Transport Committee of the State Duma.
Representatives of federal authorities, developers of intellectual transport systems and road tolling systems; transport organisations, unions and associations will be taking part in the Congress. Participation applications have been submitted by the Governments of the cities of Moscow and Saint Petersburg, by the Governments of Vladimir, Vologda, Voronezh, Moscow, Murmansk, Nizhniy Novgorod, Penza, Ryazan, and Yaroslavl regions, as well as by the Governments of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Republic of Tatarstan.

Foreign participants include the world-renowned car manufacturers Volvo, Volkswagen and Nissan; ITS technologies will be presented by Bombardier Transportation (Signal), a Russian-Swedish enterprise, by Siemens, Finmeccanica and ENEL.  Russian companies which have confirmed their participation include: Tolmachevo Airport, Techno-Traffic, FESCO Transport Group, Rosnanotech (Russian Nanotechnology Corporation), Aerospace Technologies, GeoPolygon, Navigator Technology Research and Development Centre, etc.
Several thematic round tables and presentations have been scheduled for the Congress. The participants will be able to visit the facilities on which the equipment and intellectual transport systems are installed. This year, for the first time within the framework of the Congress, an exhibition of state-of-the-art developments in the sphere of intellectual transport systems will be held.
The Golden sponsors of the event are TOLLTEC and Joint Stock Company «Design & Research Institute for Information Technology, Signaling and Telecommunication on Railway Transport» (OJSC NIIAS). The Silver sponsors are ENEL (Italy) and JSC Navigator Technology.
