15 YEARS OF SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS

The Organization succeeds to the International Business Development Foundation (IBDF), established in 1992 by a group of Russian and Swiss-based multinational companies with an active support of the International Enterprise Foundation of Geneva that had among its members American and Swiss companies such as Du Pont, IBM, Digital Equipment Company, Hewlett Packard, Philip Morris Cargill and Caterpillar, Proctor & Gamble, Philip Morris, Price Waterhouse, Tetra Pak, CIBA, Credit Suisse, Union Bank, and a number of other international business giants. The majority of these companies became the founders of IBDF that was registered in Russia as an independent legal entity with the status of a non-governmental, non-profit organization. In Russia, the fund was represented by organizations such as the Administration of the Leningrad Region, State Research & Production Association "Luch," TokoBank, Higher Commercial Management School (HCMS) of the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, and many others.

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

On April 12 to 13, 2012 the Marriott Grand Hotel will host the 4th Moscow International Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems – ITS Moscow 2012. The Congress is organized by the United Russia's project "Infrastructure of Russia" together with the Partnership for International Business Development. The event is held under the auspices of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Transportation and ITS Russia association. The Congress agenda comprises a plenary session and workshops dedicated to various aspects of ITS development complemented by on-site technical tours. The organizers expect that the ITS Moscow 2012 will be attended by most of the participants who took part in the recent editions of the Russian ITS Congresses and the International Conference “Intelligent Transport of Russia” in 2010/2011

THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL FORUM “TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE IN RUSSIA: INNOVATION – BASED DEVELOPMENT

On November 2, 2011 the «Ritz Carlton, Moscow hosted the Second edition the International Forum “Transport Infrastructure in Russia: innovation – based development. The Forum has become an important venue for the dialogue between business and state power on the eve of the parliamentary elections in Russia. The Forum was attended by over 200 senior executives representing executive and legislative branches of power, financiers and business leaders, sectorial associations and researchers. Over 60 speakers made their presentations on high priority issues regarding innovative development of the transport sector in Russia. Additional information is provided at the Forum website.

On April 21, 2011 the Center for Infrastructure Development together with the Partnership for International Business Development held the  International Forum “Transport Infrastructure in Russia: innovation – based development. The Forum took place in Moscow in the Lotte Hotel. The event was endorsed by the State Duma and the Ministry for Transportation, RF. The International Forum featured dynamic speakers and innovators from across the public and private sectors offering wide opportunities for networking.  The agenda comprised a Plenary session, the 2-nd International ITS Conference and two panel discussions: “The World Cup 2018 as a Driving Force for Development of Transport Infrastructure in Russian Regions”, “The Railway Transport “Infrastructure Development”.

THE STATE OF MARYLAND OPENS A REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE IN RUSSIA/FSU

On December 9, 2010 Spaso House, home of the American ambassador hosted the reception to commemorate the official establishment of The State of Maryland’s Representative Office in Russia and CIS. The reception was opened by John McCaslin, minister counselor for commercial affairs at the embassy, followed by a short presentation of Robert Walker, the state's assistant secretary for business and enterprise development, and Boris Kornilov, the new Maryland representative. The objective of the newly appointed office in Moscow is to promote exports to Russia and attract FDI to the state.

THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “INTELLIGENT TRANSPORT – 2010”

On November 12, 2010 the Center for Infrastructure Development together with the Partnership for International Business Development held the International Conference “Intelligent Transport – 2010”. The Conference took place in the Ararat Park Hyatt Hotel, Moscow. The event was supported by the State Duma Transport Committee and was held under the patronage of the ‘United Russia’ political party project ‘Russian Infrastructure’. The Conference agenda comprised the issues of legislative support for the creation, implementation and operation of Intelligent transport systems (ITS) in the Russian Federation; discussion of the national concept of ITS development and architecture, regulatory proposals on ITS application to amend the Russian Federation Transport Strategy until 2030.

AGREEMENT UNDERTAKING ABOUT REPRESENTATION OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND TO RUSSIA AND THE CIS

Signing ceremony

On May 25th, 2010 the Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) of the State of Maryland has signed a contingency agreement with the Partnership for International Business Development (PIBD). The signing ceremony took place in the World Trade Center in Baltimore. According to the contingency agreement PIBD will assist DBED in recruiting Russian companies to establish a location in Maryland, and in providing export assistance services to Maryland companies seeking to expand their presence in Russia and FSU countries. The newly established Maryland’s Russian Office will put special emphasis in its activities on establishing business relations with local export and investment promotion agencies both on federal and regional levels, further development of Maryland longstanding ties with Leningrad Oblast and recently established relationship with Nizhny Novgorod Region and Tatarstan.

THE 2-ND SECOND RUSSIAN CONGRESS ON INTELLIGENT TRANSPORT SYSTEMS AND SERVICES

The Partnership for International Business Development acted in the capacity of operating company for the Second Russian Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems that took place in Moscow on April 6-7. The Congress comprised a two-day Conference with Executive and Technical sessions, exhibition and technical tours. The event was was officially supported by the State Duma and the Ministry of Transport of Russia and held under the patronage of the United Russia Party’s project “Infrastructure of Russia”. It was attended by over 350 delegates represented by federal authorities, developers of intellectual transport systems and road tolling systems; transport organisations, unions and associations. The 3-rd ITS Russia Congress is will be held in St. Petersburg on May 17-19.

III INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT FORUM AND EXHIBITION
«Transport of Russia: the Establishment, Development and the Prospects». November 18-21, Moscow

The Forum was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Ministry of Transport. Over 1500 delegates attended the Forum, including representatives of the Government of the RF, Ministry of Transport, federal and regional legislative and executive powers, heads of the industry federal agencies and authorities, largest Russian and international air and water carriers, leading logistics service providers and forwarding companies, producers and operators of the transportation equipment and infrastructure, transport junctions, ports, airports, port terminals, financial organizations, insurance companies and banks. PIBD along with the International Transport Academy were retained by the Organizing Committee to organize the conference on Development of Modern Transport Infrastructure that took place on November 19, 2009 and was part of the official Forum agenda.

The First Russian Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (Russia ITS Congress 2009), Moscow, 7-8, April, 2009

 

On April 7-8, 2009 the Partnership for International Business Development held the FIRST RUSSIAN CONGRESS ON INTELLIGENT TRANSPORT SYSTEMS that was officially supported by the State Duma Transport Committee, RF Ministry of Transport, ITS Russia, ITS America and USRBC. The event was attended by over 200 conferees and widely covered by the mass media. . Participation in this Congress provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, promote cutting-edge ITS technologies, and enhance ITS networking. The next edition of ITS Russia Congress is scheduled for April 2010.

Conference on the Role of Concession Agreements in Implementation of Investment Projects to Develop Transport Infrastructure.

On October 29, 2008 the Partnership for International Business Development together with Transpoyekt Ltd held in Moscow an international Conference on the Role of Concession Agreements in Implementation of Investment Projects to Develop Transport Infrastructure. This Conference was supported by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, State Duma, Association of European Businesses in Russia, US-Russia Business Council and many other organizations. The Conference objective consisted in bringing together key decision-makers to discuss various issues and challenges related to financing and implementation of strategic infrastructure projects in the Russian Federation that would be realized on the basis of PPP and concession agreements.

Among the key-note speakers at the Conference were the representatives of State Duma, Ministry of Transportation RF, Federal Highway Agency, senior executives of Vnesheconombank, EBRD, Russian and foreign companies including Transstroy, KPMG, Siemens, Strabag, Satellic, Salans, Gide Loyrette Nouel, Chadbourn and Park LLC, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, CMS Cameron McKenna, and Vegas-Lex among others.   The Conference was attended by over 100 delegates and widely covered by the local mass media.

Round table "Development of Integrated Intelligent Transport System & Deployment of Tolls Collection Technology at Primary Highways"

On February 27, 2008 the Partnership for International Business Development held a round table on Development of Integrated Intelligent Transport Systems and System and Mechanisms for Regulating Tolls Collection on Highways in Russia.

The event which was sponsored by the Ministry of Transport and attended by government officials in charge of highways development, members of business development and finance community, senior officials representing consulting companies, road traffic contractors and suppliers, manufacturers of road traffic equipment, and developers of software products.

The welcoming address was delivered by Igor Kostyuchenko, Deputy Director, Department of State Policy for Management of Road Facilities, Automobile and Urban Passenger Traffic under the Ministry of Transport RF. Among other key-note speakers were Alexander Sidorov, Acting Head of Department for Toll Roads and Investment Projects, Federal Highway Agency (ROSAVTODOR) Oleg Shakhov, General Director, FGU «Roads of Russia», Sultan Zhakaziev, Vice Chair of Telematics Department, Moscow State Automobile and Road Technical University – MADI, Vadim Donchenko, General Director, Open Joint-Stock company Scientific Research Institute of Motor Transport (NIIAT), Gunter Ehm, Account Director International, Satellic Gmbh, Nikolai Krasilov, President, Galaxy Corporation, Anatoly Zadorozhny, General Director, ZAO Svyazstroi Syndicate, and Boris Satovsky, General Director, Russian Navigation Technologies Company, among others. Igor Levitin, Minister of Transport met with a group of Russian and foreign delegates.
